Recognized Certification Services
Certification is provided within the applicable scope of DAS or its certification partners. Accreditation details must always be confirmed against the current accreditation schedule.

DAS Certification (Private) Limited is accredited by the Pakistan National Accreditation Council—PNAC—as Management Systems Certification Body No. 08 for:

DAS also facilitates IAS-accredited certification services for additional standards through SMG Inc. Canada under an agency agreement. These services are subject to SMG’s current accreditation schedule. International Accreditation Service—IAS, USA—is a member of the International Accreditation Forum.

Certification Process
Inquiry, Application and Free Quotation
The process begins when an organization submits an inquiry, certification application and the required organizational information.
DAS reviews the information to understand the requested standard, certification scope, number of employees, operational sites and complexity of activities. A quotation is then issued for the certification program.
No audit work begins and no certification fees are charged until the quotation and certification agreement have been accepted.

Application Review and Audit Planning
Once the application is accepted, DAS reviews the requested certification scope and confirms that it has the competence and resources required to conduct the audit.
The organization is then provided with an audit plan containing the proposed audit dates, audit team and schedule.
Optional Preliminary Assessment
An organization may request a preliminary assessment before the formal certification audit. This assessment can help identify gaps and areas requiring improvement.
A preliminary assessment is optional, does not form part of the certification decision and may be conducted remotely where appropriate.
Stage 1 Audit — Documentation and Readiness Review
The Stage 1 audit evaluates the organization’s management system documentation and readiness for the Stage 2 audit.
The review may include:
- Management system scope
- Policies and objectives
- Documented processes and procedures
- Organizational context and interested parties
- Legal and regulatory requirements
- Internal audit and management review arrangements
- Site-specific conditions and operational complexity

Stage 2 Audit — Implementation and Effectiveness
The Stage 2 audit evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of the management system.
Auditors gather objective evidence through interviews, document and record reviews, observation of activities and evaluation of operational controls. The audit determines whether the management system conforms to the applicable standard and is capable of achieving its intended outcomes.
Nonconformities and Corrective Action
If a nonconformity is identified, the organization must determine its cause, implement appropriate corrective action and submit evidence within the specified period.
Corrective actions may be verified through document review, remote assessment or an additional on-site audit, depending on the nature and severity of the nonconformity.

Certification Review and Certificate Issuance
After the audit process has been completed, the audit report and supporting evidence are submitted for an independent certification review.
The certification decision is made by authorized personnel who were not members of the audit team. When certification is approved, the organization is registered and issued a certificate defining the certified standard, scope, sites and validity period.

Surveillance Audits
Surveillance audits are conducted to confirm that the certified management system continues to comply with certification requirements and remains effectively implemented.
Surveillance audits are normally conducted annually during the three-year certification cycle. The permitted interval must not exceed the timeframe established by applicable ISO, accreditation and IAF requirements.

Recertification Audit
A recertification audit is conducted before the certificate expires, normally at the end of each three-year certification cycle.
The audit evaluates the continuing conformity, suitability and effectiveness of the management system and determines whether certification should be renewed.

Changes to an Existing Certification
Expansion of Certification Scope
A certified organization may apply to add new products, services, processes, departments or operational sites to its certification scope.
DAS reviews the application and determines the audit activities required before approving an expanded scope.

Reduction of Certification Scope
A certified organization must notify DAS if it discontinues a product, service, process or site included within its certified scope.
DAS reviews the change and determines whether the certification scope must be reduced. Following a reduction, the organization must update all certificates, websites and promotional materials that refer to the previous scope.

Suspension of Certification
Certification may be suspended when:
- A required surveillance or recertification audit is not completed within the permitted timeframe.
- Major nonconformities are not adequately corrected.
- The management system no longer meets the applicable requirements.
- The organization misuses the certificate, certification mark or accreditation mark.
- Certification is represented beyond its approved scope.
- The organization fails to meet contractual or financial obligations.
- The organization does not respond appropriately to changes in certification requirements.
- Substantiated complaints or other evidence raise serious concerns about the credibility of the certified management system.
During suspension, the organization must stop promoting itself as actively certified until the suspension has been formally lifted.

Withdrawal or Cancellation of Certification
Certification may be withdrawn or cancelled when:
- The causes of suspension are not resolved within the specified period.
- The organization voluntarily returns its certificate.
- Certified products, services or activities are permanently discontinued.
- The certified organization is dissolved or can no longer be contacted.
- The organization refuses or fails to complete required audit or review activities.
- Continued certification would mislead customers, regulators or other interested parties.
Following withdrawal, all references to active certification must be removed from websites, advertisements, documents and promotional materials.
